Ephesians 1

If I adopted a child, and when that child grows up and finds out he is adopted, I think he will have many questions for me. How did you choose me? Do you really love me as your own? Do you really treat me as a part of your family? Would I be in the will with equal shares as your natural children? Where did I come from? Why did my birth parents gave me up for adoption?

My answers would sound very much like Ephesians Chapter 1.

- - I've always wanted you to be a part of our family. I dream of having a child like you to adopt. It cost us a lot to adopt you, but you are worth every thing we could give. You came from a difficult past and had a bad beginning in life. But we don't mind. You are a part of our family now, one that loved you from the beginning. Your life is secure and your inheritance is sure.

So God says the same to us plus a whole lot more. What a great life I have in Christ! I feel so rich and so loved every time I read the first part of Ephesians 1.

I pray that others would also see how precious they are to God - that's the second half of Ephesians 1.
